Bonnie Butterscotch Brownies

Try ’em quick. They’re brownie rich, brownie-chewy, butterscotch-bonnie! Studded with, naturally, Nestle’s golden Butterscotch-Flavored Morsels.

Bonnie Butterscotch Brownies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt over hot (not boiling) water one 6 oz package (1 cup) Nestle’s Butterscotch Morsels, 1/4 cup butter or margarine. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 cup light brown sugar, packed. Cool 5 minutes. Blend in 2 eggs, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Sift together and stir in 1 cup sifted flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 3/4 teaspoon salt. Stir in 1/2 cup wanuts, chopped. Spread in greased and lightly floured 12x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutess. Cool. Cut into 2″ squares. Yield 2 dozen.

1 cup butterscotch baking chips
1/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Melt butter and butterscotch chips over hot (not boiling) water. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Let cool for 5 minute. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in nuts. Spread into greased and ightly floured 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown and inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool and cut into 2″ squares.
