The magic patties with the surprise inside
(Recipe makes 4-6 servings)

2/3 cup (small can) undiluted Carnation Evaporated Milk
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
2/3 cup fine cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons prepared mustard

Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly. Divide mixture into 12 parts. Press out 12 patties between pieces of waxed paper to about 4 1/2 inches wide. Place one of the filling mixtures on each of 6 patties. Top each with second patty. Press edges together. Place on broiler pan in moderate oven (350 degrees F.).
Bake 20-25 minutes.

For Tomatoburgers:

Spread 6 patties with mustard. Top each with thin slice of tomato and thin onion slice.

For Beanburgers:

Combine 1 cup slightly mashed baked beans with 1/2 cup finely chopped onion and 2 teaspoons molasses. Mix. Spread 6 patties with catsup or mustard. Use 2 tablespoons mixture on each patty.

For Pickleburgers:

Spread 6 patties with mustard. Top each with thinly sliced dill pickles.
