Re-use lids:
Before you throw your empty salt or Parmesan cheese containers away, cut off the top with the spout on the salt (cut to fit inside a wide-mouth mason jar ring) or the plastic shaker top on the Parmesan cheese (screw top fits a regular mason jar).
