1. Skillet Sundae Sauce
In 1/4 cup butter, lightly brown 1 cup coarsely chopped Diamond Walnuts. Remove from heat. Add one 6-oz. package (1 cup) Nestle’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels. Stir till melted and smooth. Serve warm over ice cream or warm cake squares. Yield: 1 1/4 cups.
2. Marshmallow Cream Fudge
Bring to full boil- stir constantly: 1 jar marshmallow cream; 1 small can evaporated milk (Nestle’s preferred); 1/4 cup butter; 1 1/2 cups sugar; 1/4 teaspoon salt. Boil 5 minutes over moderate heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in till melted: two 6-oz. pkgs. or one 12-oz. Jumbo pkg. (2 cups) Nestle’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels; 1 teaspoon vanilla; 1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional). Pour in greased pan 8″x8″x2″. Chill till firm. YIELD: approx. 2 1/4 lbs. Or Try Never Fail Fudge.
3. Toll House Marble Squares
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Sift together 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sifted flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt-set aside. Blend 1/2 cup soft butter (or shortening), 6 tablespoons granulated sugar, 6 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 teaspoon water. Beat in 1 egg. Add flour mixture-mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup coarsely chopped Diamond Walnuts. Spread in greased 13x9x2-inch pan. Sprinkle one 6-oz. package (1 cup) Nestle’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels over top of dough. Place in an oven 1 minute. Remove from oven and run knife through dough marbelize. Return to oven and continue to bake. Bake at 375 degrees F. Time: 12-14 minutes. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Yield: 2 dozen.
4. Choco-Walnut Whizzers
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Melt two 6-oz. packages or one 12-oz. Jumbo package (2 cups) Nestle’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels over hot (not boiling) water. Remove from water. Stir in 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk, 1 tablespoon water, 1 teaspoon vanilla-DO NOT BEAT. Stir in 1 cup finely chopped Diamond Walnuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F. Time: 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Press 1 afer-dinner mint into top of each. Top with Diamond Walnut half. Cool thoroughly. Remove from cookie sheet. Yield: 2 dozen.
