Golden Chocolate Treasure Cookies

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate pieces ( approx. 10 oz. large)
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans or 1 cup walnuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In bowl, beat brown sugar and butter until creamy (3-5 mins.). Add egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in semi-sweet baking pieces and pecans. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets and bake for about 8-10 mins. Allow to stand 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets. Cool completely. Makes 20 2 1/2-inch cookies.

Pearls “N” Chocolate Cookies

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup Nestle Baking Cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cups butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 eggs
One 10 oz. package (1 1/2 cups) Premier White Nestle Toll house Treasures baking pieces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt, set aside. In bowk, beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in Treasures. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9-10 minutes. Allow to stand 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets, cool completely makes about 2 1/2 dozen 3-inch cookies.

Note that these original recipes have more salt than the modern versions. Also, Nestle Toll House Treasures Baking pieces were discontinued. DO not try to use the Treasures candy. Simply use Morsels of your choice.
