I mentioned before that our hotel package included dinner at Zehnder’s. The food and service are wonderful. The portions are gigantic. We had their classic meal which consists of chicken soup, fruit bread and blueberry preserves, garlic toast, liver pate and cheese spread, amazing cole slaw, cranberry relish, cottage cheese, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, egg noodles, stuffing, corn and finished off with ice cream or sherbet. We ate there twice and were surprised by Drumstick the chicken mascot on the second night of dining. Matthew absolutely loved this. He got a high five in the restaurant and a hug outside the restaurant. That chicken really gets around. I was starting to wonder if there was a chicken double. LOL

The waitstaff is all in historical clothing and the restaurant is beautiful. It can seat over 1500 people.

After dinner, we took a horse-drawn carriage ride. The kids laughed non-stop during the entire hour long ride. The driver was informative, kind and funny. The horse’s name is Jimmy and the driver kept saying Jimmy this and Jimmy that. Gabe and I were laughing so hard over The Jimmy Seinfeld episode.

The Jimmy

It was a lot of fun.
